Biosensor platform for medical diagnosis and/or environmental toxin detection
Research Interests
BIOSENSOR PLATFORM TECHNOLOGY FOR POINT-OF-CARE TESTING
The biosensor platform based on microfluidics technology is a compact device with all necessary instrumentation in a portable and easy-to-use format. These devices enable point-of-care testing (POCT) to be performed at patient care sites or environmental sampling sites. POCT devices provide rapid test results with the potential to improve patient care in the medical field. Research activities in the laboratory are focused on development of a platform technology for rapid antigen diagnosis/rapid molecular diagnosis device capable of on-site examination.
FUNCTIONAL NANO-BIO MATERIALS
In the past few years, biomaterial-based nanoparticles with multifunctional properties have received a lot of attention. The fine-tuning ease of nano-biomaterials makes them top candidates for biotechnology applications. Research activities in the laboratory are focused on the design and manufacture of novel nanostructured materials for a wide range of applications including environmental biosensing and medical biosensing. In particular, it focuses on its application to the development of biosensor with high sensitivity.
